Do you like R2 / SG2 steel? Its micro carbide structure makes for an excellent steel for kitchen knives, and this has been appreciated by many of the worlds best blacksmiths and knife makers. SRS15 steel is similar to SG2 steel in its micro carbide, but pushes the extremes of powdered metallurgy, and can be tougher, harder and less “chippy”. These qualities are typically inversely related, however powdered metallurgy is pushing the extremes of what is possible. This steel is very exclusive, and only a few knife makers even have the rights to use it, so this is one of few knives in production to take advantage of the unique properties of this powdered super steel.
