Atoma #400 Diamond Plate

Atoma plates have long been the standard for stone flattening plates. They have a unique design which leaves uniform channels between diamond clusters, to allow for proper flow of sharpening debris, and so the flattener does not stick to the stone. The Atoma 400 # is also standard for heavy duty knife repair.

The 400 grit model is better flattening higher grit stones. Initial use should be on a low grits stone, after "breaking it in" on a lower grit stone. Rinse until all low grit is completely removed, then carefully test on a high grit stone. Not much pressure is needed to flatten, as its design does much of the work for you.
