A clean example from a famous blacksmith

Buying a TF online can be a little dicey: I don't know any other smith who is reputed to have so much variation in grind and finish. So I reached out to Tony, and he was kind enough to send a short video of the knife as well as inform me that the pictures were showing the exact knife I'd receive. On arrival, the knife was just as pictured, and looks to be well ground, thin behind the edge, and without any obvious TF quirks. Out of the box edge was nice and sharp. I've used the knife twice so far and it is a great cutter. I'm very pleased with the product and the customer service.

Great knife! Received a western style handle instead of the wa handle as pictured.

Fujiwara is a legend

Everyone knows Teruyasu Fujiwara and some say he's the best blacksmith. Had to get a knife from him but I couldn't justify buying his even more expensive Denka line. Maboroshi fit and finish isn't as good as you'd expect from a 400 dollar knife but it clearly shows its hand made. It gets screamin sharp and it puts a smile on my face when i use it.
