Excellent performance and quality

Fit and finish is perfect. It did need a quick sharpening out of the box. Subjective, but I prefer this as it lets me set my own angle rather than grinding away whatever mystery angle already set.

Behind the edge geometry is perfect. The knife glides through food. Not a laser but a great mid point that performs through the gambit of ingredients. Lasers are all fun and games until they start getting stuck in food.

There is about a 4” flat section towards the back and the tip is highly biased towards the edge with the heel slightly swept up. I would have preferred it to be flat from the heel to at least the 3/4 mark. With the tip so close to the board, the belly is not doing much for any rocking. This is subjective to your cutting style so do with this information what you will.

Finally, the handle is very intricate. Certainly a conversation piece. Overall the knife is excellent and the length/blade shape make it a very standard k-tip gyuto that leans closer to a Kiritsuke but does not mimic the extreme flatness of it.
