Overview
Introducing The Hocho Jig—the knife world’s favorite mini hocho that actually catches fish. Designed by legendary sharpener and knife maker Takayuki Shibata, this knife-shaped metal jig brings chef-y swagger to your tackle box. You may not be impressed with the choil shot — but make no mistake: this is a fishing lure engineered to swim, flash, and get bit. At 40 g with a compact profile, it bombs casts, sinks fast, and flutters on the fall. Keep it on your keychain, hang it on the tree, or jig it off the pier—either way, it’ll make someone smile.
Common Questions
Q: Is this an actual knife?
A: No—this is a knife-shaped fishing lure. It won’t slice onions, but it will slice through the wind and get you down to the strike zone fast.
Q: Can I really catch fish with it?
A: Yes! Treat it like a compact metal jig: cast, count down, and work short pops or a slow lift-and-fall. The flat “blade” throws flash, and the weight makes it cast like a rocket. Hook not included.
Q: Who made this brilliant chaos?
A: It’s the brainchild of Takayuki Shibata—famed for ultra-thin, laser-sharp kitchen knives—now channeling that energy into tackle that makes anglers and knife nerds equally happy.
