Experience the craftsmanship of Yoshikazu Tanaka, a respected blacksmith with over 50 years of experience and a celebrated figure in Sakai's blacksmithing community. The White #1 Damascus Gyuto, measuring 240mm, showcases Tanaka's acute attention to detail and superior forging techniques.

What sets Tanaka apart is his use of pine charcoal for quenching knives, ensuring a gentle and consistent heating process. He limits his daily production to just 30 knives, guaranteeing the highest quality and precision for each piece. Additionally, Tanaka is one of the few blacksmiths in Sakai who uses a tempering kiln for their knives, contributing to his renowned heat treatment expertise.

This Gyuto knife features a distinctive wavy cladding line between the hagane (core steel) and jigane (outer layer), revealing more core steel than other knives, a signature of Tanaka's work. With its White #1 core steel and non-stainless Damascus cladding, this knife is a striking addition to any collection. Please note, our version of this knife does not include a handle, enabling you to add your custom handle here.
