Yoshikazu Tanaka Blue #1 Damascus 240mm Gyuto No Handle
Experience the unparalleled craftsmanship of Yoshikazu Tanaka, a master blacksmith with over 50 years of experience and a celebrated figure in Sakai's elite blacksmithing community. The Tokushu Yoshikazu Tanaka Blue #1 240mm Damascus Gyuto showcases Tanaka's remarkable attention to detail and exceptional forging skills.
What sets Tanaka apart from other blacksmiths is his use of pine charcoal when quenching knives, resulting in a gentle, gradual heating process. He also limits his daily production to just 30 knives, ensuring the utmost care and precision in each piece. Tanaka is also one of the few Sakai blacksmiths who use a tempering kiln for their knives, contributing to his renowned heat treatment expertise.
This Gyuto knife features a distinct wavy cladding line between the hagane (core steel) and jigane (outer layer) and exposes more core steel than other knives, a signature of Tanaka's work. With its Aogami #1 (Blue #1) core steel and non-stainless Damascus cladding, this knife is an extraordinary addition to any collection.
