Fantastic knife! Im a Chef and use this everyday to prep hundreds of pounds of vegetables and meat not to mention sushi garnish and i couldnt be happier. Holds edge perfectly and is well balanced. Cant get over the unique and rustic handmade look. In a sea of well polished ultra perfect looking Japanese knifes these knifes truly stand out and look and feel authentic. Takes me back to the days of the local street carts and markets we would eat at in Vietnam, Real knifes , Real people , not ultra polished fancy high class . Can’t wait to order the rest of the set and fill my knife roll with nothing but Dao Vua 👍

Loving this knife so far. Bought it for chopping large quantities of fresh herbs for Persian dishes, and it’s done very well as I get comfortable with it.

Chinese cleaver

Beautiful knife, especially for the money. Everyone I’ve showed it to loves it. The shape is so unconventional and intriguing, it just draws you in. The handle feels great and looks great. Came very well packaged and the add on sheath is perfect. For being a handmade production knife, you can’t do any better for the price!! It’s for my best friends 50th birthday. He’s a chef and a butcher. Can’t wait to see what he thinks of it. I will definitely be buying more Dao Vua knives, and I will definitely buy more knives from Tokushu knife. Great seller!!!

Pretty great for the price

I’ve wanted this style cleaver for a while. While grabbing some other knives I saw it. For the price I decided it was worth a shot. Normally I spend some time researching before pulling the trigger on any kind of tool. I’m quite happy with this overall. It’s got a very nice balance and feel to it. Cuts brilliantly, right out of the box, and has a just enough heft to it. It’s far from a ‘traditional’ German steel cleaver, and won’t do what they do, but that’s also not what this style cleaver is for. I haven’t had any food stick to it, and it made chopping 10lbs of onions for soup a breeze. In my opinion it’s a great entry into a different style of knife.

Nice kniv

I am satisfied with the knife, good quality in this price range. Sharp, cuts well, nicely crafted handle. I don't know how well it holds its edge yet, but I suspect it will continue to improve after I use it for a while.

Solid knife

I've had the knife for a few months now and it works great. I got it to be a go-to knife in place of some other knives that felt too light. The balance is good, edge retention is pretty good as well, and personally I like the rougher look. Although the edge retention isn't perfect, for the price it's probably the best you're going to get. Some reviews on other sites mentioned it being difficult to care for due to the carbon steel, but I haven't had any issues. A thin coat of oil after washing takes about 10 seconds to put on and that's all the extra maintenance you need. It's nothing crazy or innovative but just a reliable workhorse at a great price that does its job well.

DAO VUA V3 52100 Chinese Cleaver 200mm

This has become my favorite kitchen knife. I'm a big fan of 52100 Ball Bearing steel. I have several handforged knives made from it. The DAO VUA V3 52100 Chinese Cleaver 200mm came extremely sharp, I polished the edge on a green infused strop and it became 'scary sharp'. If, you're looking for a perfectly finished blade this Asian Chef knife isn't for you. It has some 'character' marks leftover from the forging process. I actually like that. The handle it came with is comfortable and attractive. I used to carbon steel, so maintenance is no issue. Zack is a great guy to deal with. I would highly recommend this 'Chinese Chef Knife' to anyone wanting an entry level Asian style vegetable Cleaver.
