Yu Kurosaki Senko Ei SG2 Gyuto 240mm

Crafted by the talented young blacksmith Yu Kurosaki, the Senko SG2 Gyuto 240mm epitomizes excellence in Japanese knife making. With his beginnings at Kaneshiro Uchi-Hamono and further refinement under Hiroshi Kato, Kurosaki-san has risen to become one of the leading blacksmiths in Takefu, Echizen, and Japan. His dedication to precision and artistry is evident in every detail of this exceptional knife.

The Kurosaki Senko SG2 Gyuto 240mm is known for its relatively thin and lightweight design. It features a standard profile and average proportions typical of a gyuto. With a blade height of approximately 56mm and an edge length of 240mm, this knife is well-balanced and perfect for a variety of cutting techniques. The blade's first third is flat, transitioning into a slight belly for versatile use, including rocking motions. The balance point aligns with a typical pinch grip, making it comfortable and efficient to handle.

True to Kurosaki’s renowned craftsmanship, the Senko SG2 Gyuto boasts an impeccable fit and finish from tip to handle. The unique hammered finish, characterized by tiny triangular marks, adds both aesthetic appeal and functional light reflection. This knife strikes the perfect balance between form and function, making it an outstanding addition to any kitchen at a reasonable price.
