Fujiwara-san is a fourth - generation blacksmith in a family of samurai sword makers. He is legendary for his forging technique, and in fact was co-creator with his father in mastering the process of stainless cladding over carbon steel. He is not unique for just applying sword making techniques to kitchen knife smithing, but also for his unique forging process. He takes Aogami Super steel to about 66 HRC, with a flawless heat treat.
