Shindo-san is a Tosa based blacksmith to watch. Why? He doesn't cut corners, and has some of the thinnest grinds I have ever seen. He uses a traditional warikomi construction inserting his core steel and making his on stock.

The spine starts out thick at the heel at 4.5mm and quickly thins down. The most impressive part is the paper thin edge, which read 0.0mm on my micrometer. I don't have an instrument that can capture this, so it's time to see it for yourself.

If you are looking for something that falls through veggies, look no further. I wish we where able to get more stock, but his reputation is taking off very quickly as is demand for his knives.

If you’re still asking “Who is this guy”? I anticipate in the next few years everyone will know him. There is no way this smith isn’t going places.
